TERMS & CONDITIONS (the petit print!)
These Terms and Conditions are legally binding between you, as the client, and us, Petit Verbier Sàrl. and are deemed accepted by you upon receipt by us of confirmation of a booking (whether such confirmation is received by us in person, by email or by telephone).
Extra activities such as swimming, sledging and rock climbing can be organised upon request, although there may be an extra cost for such activities, to be notified to you in advance. Full week carers will be equipped with a range of fun toys/games to entertain your children and we will arrange for you to meet your carer before the start of the booking for introductions and childcare details. For bookings of less than 1 week (full or half days) this will be charged at our standard hourly rate.
If a booking is cancelled more than 3 weeks before the date the booking was intended to start, we will offer you a full refund less an admin fee of CHF80. For cancellation anywhere between three weeks’ and one week’s notice, you will be refunded 50% of the total fee less an admin fee of CHF80. If a booking is cancelled with less than one week’s notice, you will not be entitled to any refund.
An introductory meeting may be arranged prior to the start date of your booking. Your assigned carer will meet with you and your children. You will be asked to complete a form regarding your child (medications, allergies, dietary requirements, routine and emergency contact details). It is your responsibility to notify us of any allergies or specific medical needs prior to, or at the commencement of the booking.
All parents/guardians are encouraged to stay for the first half hour or so on the first day of child care, to aid their child with the settling-in process. However, please be aware that this time is included in your total childcare hours. Our carers will provide verbal feedback at the end of each day. Upon request we can create a daily written diary with information on routine and activities which have taken place each day.
Your child’s safety is our number one priority. If your child has any specific health needs or concerns, please notify us in advance where possible, otherwise please discuss this with your carer at the commencement of your booking. If you wish the carer to administer medication to your child during their time in our care, you are required to state this, providing clear instructions, on the registration form, or otherwise make this request to us prior to the start of the booking, where possible.
In the event of any incident involving your child, you will be provided with details of the incident, and a copy of the incident report form, which you will be asked to counter-sign to confirm you have received it.
You are required to provide us with at least one mobile phone number, and to ensure you are contactable at all times during the child care. You must inform us immediately of any changes to these contact details. Where it is necessary to contact you prior to the scheduled end of your booking, we will seek to get in touch with you on the number provided.
If your child becomes ill whilst in our care, we will contact you (or the emergency contact indicated on the registration form) as soon as possible. If your child requires urgent medical attention while under our care, you agree that we may contact a doctor or ambulance as appropriate and you agree that we are authorised to act at the child’s guardian with regards to emergency medical decisions until such time as we are able to contact you (or the appropriate emergency contact).
Unless specified in advance, Petit Verbier will not hand over any child from our care to anyone other than the parent/guardian listed on the registration form. If you wish to authorise us to leave your child in the care of another adult, you are required to provide the full name and a description of this person, and an agreed password for this event (to be stated on the registration form). Without these details, we are unable to verify the safety of your child.
We take all reasonable steps to safeguard your child’s welfare. Our carers are subject to police/background checks. If a staff member has concerns about the welfare of child, this may be may be reported to the relevant authorities at our discretion.
If you have self-catered accommodation, you may request your carer to prepare simple food from your provisions. However, carers are not permitted to prepare food in catered chalets, or hotels. If you are staying in catered accommodation or a hotel, you may either inform the carer of pre-arranged meals to be provided by your accommodation provider, or you are required to provide the carer with a float or kitty to pay for meals in a restaurant/café.
Babies –where milk is provided, clear written instructions must be given to the carer at the start of the booking regarding preparation, feeding times, sterilisation equipment, etc. Arrangements to meet mothers for breastfeeding can also be made.
You are required to provide the carer with suitable meals (or funds to cover meals in a restaurant/café) when you require them to work for a full day (over 4 consecutive daytime hours).
You are required to provide a day bag for your child. For young infants, please include a supply of nappies, wipes, nappy disposal bags, along with at least one change of clothes, comforters, dummies, bibs, and any other items necessary for your child’s care/comfort. For children who may be potty training, you are required to notify us in advance and to provide several changes of clothes. Where it has been agreed with us in advance that extra activities will take place, you are required to provide suitable items, such as swimming costume, extra clothing, towels, etc.
The rented equipment may only be used and operated in a careful and proper manner. Its use must comply with all laws, ordinances, and regulations relating to the possession, use, or maintenance of the equipment.
Equipment should be collected and returned to Petit Verbier’s office (Route des Creux 14, Verbier 1936) during office hours or as agreed. For equipment rentals of CHF100 or more you can arrange to have Petit Verbier deliver and set up your equipment in your accommodation and collect at the end of your booking. This is subject to availability and pre agreed times
Additional charges shall be added in the event the equipment is damaged, missing any parts, or returned later than the agreed date. The client shall pay Petit Verbier an additional amount per day for each day the equipment has not been returned, in addition to the rental fee.
Petit Verbier agrees to have inspected the equipment and acknowledges it is in good working condition. The equipment will be cleaned thoroughly between rentals and all bedding and sheets will be professionally laundered.
The client agrees to keep and maintain the equipment clean and in good working order during the rental term at their own expense. In the event any equipment is lost, stolen or damaged beyond repair, the client shall pay Petit Verbier the replacement cost of the equipment.
This clause sets out our liability to you in respect of the provision of our services to you. All terms implied by law are, to the fullest extent permitted by law, excluded. Nothing in these terms and conditions in any way limits our liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury resulting from negligence. We shall not be liable for: (i) any loss or damage to any toys, equipment, bags, clothing, property, etc.; or (ii) loss of any profits, or consequential loss; or any other indirect loss. Our total liability (in contract, tort including negligence or breach of statutory duty, or otherwise) shall be limited to the total amount of the fee for the relevant booking during which the liability in question arose.
In the event at you wish to directly employ or otherwise engage for the provision of nanny, childcare or baby-sitting services, any current or former member of our staff who either: (i) has provided services directly to you or your family on behalf of Petit Verbier, or (ii) you have been introduced or otherwise have become aware of as a result of their role with Petit Verbier (for example, they have been a nanny for your friend’s children), either at any time whilst we are providing services to you, or during the period of two years from the end of your last booking with us, you are required to pay to us a finder’s fee. You agree that details of your name, address and payment details may be collected by us, and may be passed to third parties in connection with the provision of our services and your payment for these services, e.g., credit card companies.
You may consent to the use of photographs and/or videos of your child for our promotional or training purposes on the child registration form. If you wish to withdraw this consent at any time, please inform us in writing.
Any personal data related to you or your child will be dealt with in accordance with our Privacy Policy, available on our website.
Without restricting any other rights that we may have at law, we may, at our discretion, suspend or terminate the provision of any services to you immediately if:
On termination of our services to you either at the end of your booking, or earlier for any reason, you shall immediately pay all of our outstanding unpaid invoices and, in respect of services which have been provided but have not yet been paid, we may submit an invoice, which shall be payable immediately on receipt.
Any clause in these terms and conditions which implicitly is intended to survive termination shall continue in force.
We may change these terms and conditions where such a change arises from changes in regulations or legislation affecting us. We may change any other terms in these terms and conditions and, where possible, we will give you at least one month’s written notice of our intention to do so.
These terms and conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims), shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of Switzerland shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute or claim.
Petit Verbier was established in 2008 and has since acquired an excellent reputation for high quality childcare.
